Lesson Overview

This ESL A1 clothes shopping lesson plan begins with a warm up activity where students play a synonyms game and unscramble sentences. Next, there is a picture exercise which introduces clothing vocabulary. 

Afterwards, students use the same vocabulary to complete sentences, solidifying their understanding. Next, natural ways to express likes and dislikes related to clothing are introduced before students are given ample opportunity to practice using the new phrases. 

There are two separate dialogue activities that show students how to speak naturally in a clothes store. There is further practice through the awesome role plays section. In addition there is a reading exercise which uses the words and phrases learned earlier in the class. The lesson culminates with a fun, engaging speaking activity,

Homework

Students are challenged to complete a writing task where they are encouraged to use all the words and phrases learned in the lesson. Next, there is an excellent listening activity.
