Lesson Overview
This C1–C2 ESL conversation class on sleep helps learners develop fluency while exploring a topic that affects everyone. Through a range of engaging speaking activities, students will discuss sleep habits, sleep personalities, common myths about sleep, and the factors that influence sleep quality in modern life.
Throughout the lesson, learners share personal experiences, compare cultural attitudes toward sleep, and debate issues such as technology use before bed, sleep inequality, and modern lifestyles. The activities encourage critical thinking, opinion sharing, and natural conversation, making it ideal for both 1-to-1 and group classes.
With a clear structure and varied tasks—including discussions, rankings, myth-busting activities, and “sleep confessions”—this lesson gives students plenty of opportunities to practice advanced vocabulary and express nuanced ideas while building confidence in spoken English.
