Lesson Overview

We are positive that your intermediate ESL students will enjoy this topic for conversation practice! Conversation classes are straight-forward and focus only on one thing - getting your students talking! However, as we introduce the topic with an article, we believe that a vocabulary exercise is needed for students to progress. This ESL Shopping Conversation lesson plan starts off with a vocabulary exercise. Then, students have to read an article and discuss questions.

Thereafter, students practice their speaking skills by comparing fashion garments. They are prompted with multiple discussion questions to ensure they always have something to say. This ESL Shopping Conversation class will give your students an opportunity to express their opinions about fashion and shopping, and ultimately answer the question: are we buying too much clothing?
