Lesson Overview

This ESL lesson plan on New Year’s traditions is perfect for your beginner ESL students. It provides all the necessary language and scaffolding to ensure students are able to participate fully and enjoy it. 

The class begins with a fun warm-up exercise. Next, they are introduced to new words related to the topic, which they are then challenged to use in the next exercise. 

There is an awesome video-based activity which enables students to practise their comprehension skills through true or false, sentence completion and discussion exercises.
