Students then watch a video about unusual Halloween traditions from countries including Mexico, Austria, the Czech Republic, China, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, and Nigeria. They practise listening comprehension while learning about traditions such as the Day of the Dead, the Festival of Hungry Ghosts, Halloween bonfires, fortune-telling, and leaving offerings for the dead.
The lesson also includes vocabulary activities focusing on words such as graveyard, spirits, ancestors, deceased, offerings, and tradition.
