Lesson Overview

In this free A2 ESL lesson plan on Mother's Day, students will explore the significance of this special occasion while honing their language skills. Through engaging activities, they'll learn vocabulary related to motherhood, discuss traditions, and create heartfelt messages to express gratitude to the remarkable women in their lives.

The class begins with a fun warm-up exercise where they different family members' roles based on a family tree. Next, they are introduced to common Mother’s Day gifts, and a series of fun questions to improve speaking skills. 

In this free ESL lesson plan on Mother’s Day, there is an awesome video-based activity which enables students to practise their comprehension skills through true or false, sentence completion and discussion exercises. 

Afterwards, there is an excellent grammar task which teaches ESL students about -ing and -ed adjectives, before challenging them to use the grammar within the context of the Mother’s Day topic.
