Lesson Overview 

In this ESL lesson plan on resume mistakes to avoid, students learn to identify and rectify errors such as typos, irrelevant information, and poor formatting to enhance their chances of securing job opportunities.

It begins with a fun warm up where students are encouraged to create the opposite meaning of words using prefixes before moving on to lead-in questions, and later a vocabulary exercise. 

Afterwards, there is a detailed exercise that thoroughly explores each of the tips raised in the video. This section includes; vocab, true or false and speaking exercises. 

The next ESL exercise of the class, the grammar point of “should / shouldn't" is explored in-detail, including a definition before an engaging activity. 

Our favourite exercise of this lesson presents students with an example resume that they have to study before completing a task. The class finishes with a fun debate activity.
