Lesson Overview
This lesson studies the fascinating topic of sustainable fashion. Students will be introduced to this subject by watching an interesting video. Then they will explore the topic further by completing various exercises on; phrasal verbs, idioms, reading and discussions.
We recommended delivering this lesson to advanced learners from high B2 to C2. Although the title contains the word ‘fashion’ students are not required to have any knowledge about fashion, as the class is more focussed on the environment, ideas and language.
There are many fun exercises including; phrasal verbs, idioms, reading and discussions. Our favourite activity is on idioms as it challenges learners to create idioms before using them in a real-life setting, which is beneficial for their progression and is also great fun! Activities:
- Warm up.
- Phrasal verbs: clothing.
- Video; New words.
- Let’s discuss.
- Article: Sustainable leggings.
- The benefits of fashion.
- Top tips for sustainability.
- Idioms with clothing.
- Let’s debate.

Then there are a series of vocabulary and general questions which enable students to use the language learned in class, and express their own thoughts. Activities:

- Writing task.
