In this B2 ESL lesson plan, students explore the topic of stress and discuss how it affects people’s emotions, behaviour, and overall wellbeing. They begin by talking about common causes of stress, personal experiences, and situations that can make people feel overwhelmed, pressured, or exhausted.
Students then explore the science behind stress through an engaging video about how stress affects the brain. They learn useful vocabulary, adjectives, and phrasal verbs related to stress, including how to describe stress levels, manage difficult situations, and discuss healthy ways to cope with pressure.
Finally, students take part in a variety of conversation activities, including ranking stressful situations, sharing personal experiences, and debating different opinions about modern stress.
