Lesson Overview
This A1 ESL lesson explores the topic “My Perfect Holiday”, helping students talk about holidays, travel, and simple personal preferences using very basic, natural English.
Learners discuss everyday holiday ideas such as where they go on holiday, who they travel with, how they travel, where they stay, and what activities they like doing. They also talk about favourite holiday places, food, weather, and simple holiday experiences.
Students learn and use useful A1 phrases such as “I like…”, “I don’t like…”, “My favourite is…”, “I go to…”, “I travel by…”, and “I stay in…”. They also practise asking simple questions like “Where do you go on holiday?” and “What do you like doing on holiday?”
Through speaking tasks, “This or That” games, discussion questions, and simple pair-work activities, students build confidence talking about their own holiday experiences and asking classmates about theirs.
This lesson is ideal for A1 learners who are developing basic speaking skills on familiar topics such as holidays, travel, and free time.
