Lesson Overview

This ESL A1 gym lesson plan begins with a warm up activity where students brainstorm words related to gym. Next, there are two picture-and-answer tasks before an engaging dialogue exercise. 

There is also a listening exercise that challenges students to listen to a short audio about health and exercise before answering some multiple-choice questions. The final exercise is focused on speaking, presenting the perfect opportunity for learners to use everything they've learned in the class in a fun and engaging manner.

Homework

As with all adult lesson plans on ESL Pals, there is an excellent homework task to supplement this awesome ESL A1 gym lesson plan. Students are challenged to complete a sentence restructure exercise. Next, they are asked to write about their idea of a perfect gym. In the task, they are given clear scaffolding to support them in structuring their email.
