Lesson Overview

This ESL A1 shopping lesson plan begins with a warm-up game, followed by a vocabulary task which presents lists of pictures, before challenging them to use the new words in sentences and answer questions. 

Next, there are two dialogue tasks which allow learners to use their new vocabulary in a natural way. Likewise, in the reading exercise participants will learn new words before being encouraged to use them in the corresponding tasks. 

The seventh activity is a grammar exercise which studies superlatives. An explanation is given before a series of tasks are presented. The final two exercises are fun and engaging which enable students to let their hair down and have fun!

Homework

As with all adult lesson plans on ESL Pals, there is an excellent homework task to supplement this awesome ESL A1 shopping lesson plan. Students are challenged to watch a video on consumerism, before being asked to write answers to challenging questions. Learners will love this as they get to use their new knowledge from the lesson.
