Lesson Overview
This A1 ESL lesson introduces the topic “Amazing Animals,” helping students learn and use simple vocabulary to describe animals, their appearance, and their behaviour. Learners talk about different animals such as monkeys, elephants, tigers, and rabbits, and say what they look like and what they can do.
Students learn key adjectives such as “strong,” “friendly,” “noisy,” “slow,” “dangerous,” and “cute,” and practise using them in simple sentences like “The tiger is dangerous” and “The rabbit is small and cute.” They also begin to use basic comparatives in simple form, such as “nosier than” and “faster than.”
The lesson includes speaking activities, matching tasks, true or false exercises, and simple discussions about favourite animals. Students are encouraged to share opinions using basic language like “I like…” and “because it is…”.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to name common animals, describe them using simple adjectives, and give basic opinions about animals they like and dislike.
