Lesson Overview
Your students will love this video-based business ESL conversation class as it gives them the opportunity to talk about a classic business topic – leadership and management.
As always with our business ESL conversation classes, the lesson begins with a breakdown of the vocabulary used in the video, before presenting students with a series of awesome questions.
The video used is called ‘Leading with Lollipops’ by Drew Dudley. He explains how you can make a difference in other people’s lives without even knowing it. Drew Dudley then links this to leadership and management in business.
Dudley argues that people define leadership as; pioneering, transformative behaviours. However, this tends to devalue everyday examples of leadership. Dudley encourages listeners to redefine leadership as he believes true leadership is being able to change somebody's understanding of how powerful and important they are, which can be done through simple ‘lollipop moments’.
