Lesson Overview
This A2 ESL lesson plan, “How to Make New Friends,” begins with a warm-up synonyms game designed to get students speaking as much as possible from the start.
Students then move on to an adjectives task, where they work with picture-based lists before using the new vocabulary in sentences and answering questions. Building on this, a follow-up exercise gives further practice in using adjectives more naturally and fluently.
In the listening activity, students hear a short audio about Taylor, who is moving to a new city and trying to meet new people. This is followed by a reading task featuring short texts about people who have recently relocated and adapted to new environments.
The lesson ends with two speaking activities, giving learners the opportunity to use all the language from the lesson in a fun and communicative way.
